Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai adds to his stake

Alphabet Inc. Chief Executive Sundar Pichai, who was recently elevated to the top role at the Google parent company, has added to his Alphabet stake. A filing released Friday morning showed that Pichai acquired 115,007 shares of Class C Google stock units on Thursday. At current prices, his newly acquired stake is worth about $156 million. He has options to buy about 20,000 shares over the next few years. Pichai, who formerly led just the Google side of Alphabet's business, was already one of the highest paid chief executives several years back, after he was awarded nearly $200 million in stock in 2016.
