Triad convention hotel sold at auction for $49.5 million
A downtown convention hotel in the Triad was sold for $49.5 million in an unusual transaction that seems to have flown under the radar of Winston-Salem leaders. The downtown Marriott Winston-Salem at 425 N. Cherry St. in Winston-Salem was purchased by Rockbridge Capital of Columbus, Ohio, through a Commissioner’s Deed after a Feb. 10 auction. Rockbridge, the creditor for the property, submitted the winning bid.
