Amazon.com Inc. said Tuesday it has ordered 100,000 electric delivery vans from privately held Rivian Automotive Inc., which is backed by Ford Motor Co. and Amazon. The vehicles will be on the road beginning in 2021, with all 100,000 electric vans planned by 2030, Amazon said. The vans will be custom-built for Amazon and will come in three sizes as well as multiple battery sizes to be used in specific delivery routes.
