Amazon to create 500 new full-time jobs in Illinois as it opens new fulfillment center

Amazon.com Inc. said Friday it will create more than 500 new full-time jobs in Illinois as it opens a new fulfillment center in Channahon. The new facility, at more than one million square feet, will pack and ship large customer items, such as sports equipment, patio furniture, kayaks and larger household goods. Pay for the new jobs will start at $15 an hour, and will include full medical, vision and dental insurance. "We welcome and celebrate this new fulfillment center and the economic growth it will create in these communities and in our state," said Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.
