Evelyn Yang, the wife of former Democratic presidential nominee and current New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang, is not happy about how her husband is depicted in a cartoon in the New York Daily News.
Yang, who says she was born in New York City, objected to her husband being referred to as a tourist in a cartoon she labeled a “racist disfiguration.”

The cartoon depicts Yang leaving a Times Square subway station with a pair of shop owners happy that the tourists have come back.
The cartoon was done by editorial cartoonist at the New York Daily News Bill Bramhall — Bramhall did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Yang has been criticized a few times during his mayoral campaign for saying things that made it seem like he was not a true New Yorker. For example, Yang received pushback for saying his favorite subway station is the often crowded Times Square one, and he struggled to name his favorite song by Jay-Z, a popular New York rapper.
There have not been a lot of polls of the New York City mayoral race, but Yang is currently a slight betting favorite, according to oddsmakers at U.K. sportsbook Betfair.
