As construction kicks off on Potomac Yard Metro, a second entrance remains in limbo

The mood was jubilant at the groundbreaking for the new Potomac Yard Metro station Thursday, considering construction there is finally starting after roughly a quarter century of work. Current and former Alexandria officials gathered with Gov. Ralph Northam and a variety of other dignitaries to hail the official start of work on the $320 million effort, taking no small amount of pleasure in showing progress on a project that has seen more than its fair share of ups and downs.
