PNC: Recession’s coming, and here’s when
Economists at Pittsburgh’s biggest bank are forecasting a nine-month recession next year, starting in the second quarter. PNC Financial Services Group Inc.’s (NYSE:PNC) baseline outcome was confirmed by Kurt Rankin, senior economist, on Thursday. “To some extent, this is indeed the Fed’s goal, since only a cessation in consumer demand can truly stabilize price pressures across the economy,” Rankin said.
