More potential buyers are looking for energy efficient vehicles, including hybrids, since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to car shopping website Edmunds. To add to this perfect storm, EV makers are raising prices of their EVs in response to rising inflation that has pushed the price of nickel, a key component in EV batteries, to record high levels. U.S. rental car major Hertz , which ordered 100,000 Tesla EVs last year, is next to make that move.
