Boom and beyond: Aerospace panel talks education, facilities, workforce and growth in the Triad
The Triad is on a parallel track of rapid growth in the aerospace and vehicle electrification industries with thousands of jobs heading here following major economic development announcements. The most recent of those was Boom Supersonic’s plans to build a manufacturing plant at Piedmont Triad International Airport, where it will assemble its Overture supersonic passenger jet, with plans to employ as many as 2,400 by the early 2030s. Last week, Triad Business Journal held a panel discussion at Forsyth Tech Community College with aerospace education and industry professionals to discuss how North Carolina and the Triad have positioned themselves to attract “transportech” companies and meet the labor challenges associated with that growth.
