Karl Rove to Donald Trump: the election is over.
Writing in the Wall Street Journal, the prominent Republican party political consultant says the president’s efforts to contest the results “are unlikely to move a single state from [Joe] Biden’s column,” and that challenges in states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are “not enough to change the final outcome.”

The op-ed by former George W. Bush adviser Rove comes as the Trump campaign and its supporters have filed state and federal lawsuits, seeking to have ballots and entire county elections declared invalid, but have yet to provide evidence of widespread voter or election fraud. As MarketWatch reports, Trump and his backers have not won any rulings.

Rove agreed with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said that Trump is “100% within his rights” to take concerns about fraud and transparency to court. But, said Rove, Trump must prove systemic fraud to win, with illegal votes in the tens of thousands. “There is no evidence of that so far,” Rove wrote.
“Once his days in court are over, the president should do his part to unite the country by leading a peaceful transition and letting grievances go,” said Rove.
