European stocks opened Thursday with heavy losses, as overseas traders had their first opportunity to react to minutes from the last Federal Reserve interest-rate setting committee.
The Stoxx Europe 600 SXXP, -1.06% slumped 1.2% at the open, losing ground after the Fed minutes showed the central bank may start winding down its $8.9 trillion balance sheet soon after rates start being hiked.
