Facebook buys cloud-gaming startup

Facebook Inc. has acquired a Spanish startup focused on cloud delivery of video games, according to reports. CNBC reported Wednesday afternoon that Facebook confirmed the purchase of PlayGiga, while declining to state a price. A Spanish newspaper reported last week that Facebook was seeking to acquire the company for about 70 million euros, according to the CNBC report. Facebook purchased Oculus for $2 billion in 2014 and continues to produce that company's virtual-reality gaming devices, and has launched a live-stream service that allows Facebook users to share their gameplay.
