Facebook says it has registered 2.5 million people to vote

Facebook Inc. on Monday said it has helped register 2.5 million people to vote so far this year across its social-media platforms, already topping the 2 million registrations it logged in 2016 and 2018. The company's goal is to register more than 4 million people this year. Facebook also announced that beginning Sept. 26, the company will show people in the U.S. information about how to register at the top of the Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger apps.
