Jeff Bezos promises $1bn Amazon investment in India

Jeff Bezos began a visit to India with effusive praise and investment pledges, just days after an antitrust watchdog ordered an investigation into Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart and their operations in the country. “I predict that the 21st century is going to be the Indian century,” said Mr Bezos, the Amazon founder, at an event in New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Wednesday.
