Note to White House staffers: Don’t cough when the president’s trying to explain how “phenomenal” and “fantastic” his financial statement is.
Take it from Mick Mulvaney, who found out the hard way.
‘I don’t like that, you know, I don’t like that. If you’re going to cough, please leave the room. You just can’t, you just can’t cough. Boy oh boy.’
That’s Donald Trump apparently admonishing his chief of staff during an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that aired on Sunday.
Trump, clearly peeved, was in the middle of responding to a question about whether he would give the Senate a look at his financial statement.
“When you will see my financial statement, at some point I assume it’s going to be released, you’ll be very impressed by the job I’ve done,” he said. “Much, much bigger; much, much better than anybody… it’s a fantastic financial statement.”
