Ines Ferre breaks down today’s market action as energy and technology are among the worst-performing sectors with stocks like Microsoft, Google, and Tesla the biggest laggards.

DAVE BRIGGS: Welcome back. For those of you that love starting off the week on a positive note, maybe just earmuffs for about 30 seconds as we check the markets on this Monday. A lot of red on the board. We start the way the week ended last week, with the NASDAQ leading those, that fall 303 points, 2.2%.
The NASDAQ, just been a rough year to date. They are leading in terms of drop on this year. The Dow down 423 points, and the S&P 500 historically the best month for the S&P. Not the case this year. Ines Ferre has a check of the YFi Interactive, diving inside those numbers on this Monday. Hi there, Ines.
INES FERRE: Hi, Dave, and looking at the sector action, we are at the lows of the session right now as we go into the close. We’re seeing energy stocks, technology, health care, consumer discretionary, all of these that are lagging right now. Over on the NASDAQ 100, look at the left-hand side of the screen, the mega cap tech names. You’re looking at Alphabet down more than 3%.
The last five sessions, Alphabet has been down, by the way. Microsoft down almost 4%. Also, Tesla trading below $1,000 a share right now, and Nvidia down 5% after a bear downgrade. Looking also at the semis, which have been getting battered recently, you’re seeing a lot of red on the screen there.
Over on the travel sector, you’ve got some of the airlines that are in the green and some of the cruise operators also in the green as well. Finally, just want to mention where we’re at with energy stocks because these have been the biggest laggards today. And we are seeing quite a bit of losses with the energy stocks, the energy sector, which has done very well this year, by the way. Let’s go over to the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
