Micron Plans to Build Largest U.S. Chip Plant Ever
Micron Technology plans to invest billions of dollars to build a huge new chip manufacturing plant. The plant, which Micron ( MU ) said will invest up to $100 billion over 20 years to build, will be located in Clay, N.Y., north of Syracuse. It will eventually create nearly 50,000 jobs for the state, including 9,000 at Micron, and will represent “the largest private investment in New York state history,” the company said.
