Judge rules on CACI’s protest of $744M Army contract
A judge has denied CACI International’s protest of a large Army encryption contract a little more than three months after the Reston IT contractor filed it. Court of Federal Claims Judge Zachary Somers filed the ruling under seal in December noting CACI “failed to establish that it has standing to bring the instant protest,” according to the ruling. CACI filed the protest in the Court of Federal Claims in September over the Next Generation Load Device-Medium, an encryption device meant to receive “the strongest [National Security Agency]-generated cryptographic keys to tactical, strategic and enterprise network systems operating from SECRET to the highest levels of security classification,” according to a November 2020 announcement about the Army’s request for proposal for the 10-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.
