Taking care of a dog or cat takes a lot of scratch. In fact, four in 10 pet owners in a new survey said they’ve cut back on their grocery bill so they could keep feeding their dogs.

That’s according to the latest True Cost of Pet Parenthood report from pet-sitting service Rover.com, which says that dog owners are dropping between $610 to $3,555 on their pups each year, and cat owners are coughing up between $325 and $1,600.
