President Donald Trump on Friday attacked House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, calling on the California Democrat to resign over the way he portrayed Trump’s conversation with Ukraine’s leader.

‘SICK MAN’

Trump said on Twitter that Schiff “totally made up my conversation with Ukraine President and read it to Congress and Millions.”

During a hearing Thursday focusing on a whistleblower complaint about Trump’s July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Schiff characterized the call in a way that he later said was “meant to be at least part in parody.”

Schiff’s recounting of the phone call included saying that Trump told Zelensky, “If you don’t understand me, I’m going to say it seven more times,” in addition to other quotes clearly not contained in the call summary.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has put Schiff in charge of the House’s impeachment efforts. He said impeachment hearings could begin as soon as next week.

“He is a sick man!” wrote Trump, who has denied wrongdoing.
