Koo, an India-based social media app, has integrated OpenAI’s chatGPT to establish itself as a trendier and more user-friendly platform.
What Happened: Koo, an Indian social media app that aims to rival Elon Musk‘s Twitter, has integrated chatGPT technology to help users draft posts easily, reported Reuters.

The platform will allow users to use chatGPT directly within the app to create posts about current events, politics, pop culture or any trending event — it could essentially help them navigate through writer’s block without going through any unnecessary hassles, stated the report.
“This will help creators get inspiration on what to create,” said Mayank Bidawatka, co-founder of Koo. “They could ask (ChatGPT) for the trending news in their region and then write their thoughts.”
Initially, the feature will be made available exclusively to Koo’s verified accounts, with plans to extend it to all users eventually, the report noted.

Musk cofounded OpenAI in 2015 but left the company in 2018. He has now started publicly criticizing the company saying things like, “Not what I intended at all.”
Why It’s Important: OpenAI’s chatGPT — which has taken the internet by storm — was released in November for testing. The AI-powered chatbot has ignited a battle among tech giants like Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) NASDAQ: GOOGL) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).
Koo is one of many platforms which is integrating this technology. Previously, it was reported that Instacart Inc., Shopify Inc. (NYSE:SHOP) and Snap Inc. (NYSE:SNAP) were already using the technology.
Earlier this month, OpenAI also announced that it is now offering paid access to businesses that want to use the chatbot’s ability to elevate the performance of their apps and products.
