Summer’s almost over, and Hulu is coming back from its virtual programming slumber with a lineup of highly anticipated series in September 2020, including a returning fan favorite.
That would be Season 2 of “Pen15” (Sept. 18), the hit original comedy from Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, who play hilarious and cringe-inducing adolescent versions of themselves. The first season, which debuted way back in February 2019, was nominated for an Emmy for comedy writing.

Hulu will also launch another original comedy, “Woke” (Sept. 9), starring Lamorne Morris (“New Girl”) as a Black cartoonist whose life is turned upside down after a run-in with racist cops.
Meanwhile, a pair of FX favorites — “Fargo” (Sept. 28) and “Archer” (Sept. 16) — will return for new seasons, streaming on Hulu the day after airing on cable. The long-awaited fourth season of Noah Hawley’s Emmy-winning crime anthology “Fargo” stars Chris Rock and Jason Schwartzman this time around, and will travel back to 1950 to tell a tale about Kansas City mobsters, while Season 11 of “Archer” has the animated superspy finally awakening from his coma and returning to work, such as it is.

The Walt Disney Co. DIS, -0.34% -controlled streaming service also has the Emmy Awards (though a day late, on Sept. 21); next-day streaming of new episodes of Fox favorites like “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons” (all Sept. 28); the new FX docuseries “A Wildness of Error” (Sept. 26), about the notorious Jeffrey MacDonald murder case; and a ton of new movies, including the “Twilight” franchise (Sept. 1) and the Will Smith-vs.-CGI Will Smith thriller “Gemini Man” (Sept. 18).
