Powerball Grand Prize Jackpot Grows to $1 Billion
The Powerball lottery jackpot has grown to $1 billion for Monday night’s drawing after no tickets matched all six numbers for the grand prize this weekend. The cash payout for that size of a jackpot would be an estimated $497.3 million, Powerball said in a statement on Sunday, adding it is the second time in Powerball’s 30-year history that the jackpot has reached $1 billion. Saturday night’s $825 million grand prize drawing found no tickets matching the five white balls — 19, 31, 40, 46, 57—and the red Powerball 23.
