Venmo in talks with Synchrony to offer credit card

Online payment-sharing company Venmo is in talks to select Synchrony Financial to issue its first-ever credit card, according to a report. The Wall Street Journal reported that Venmo, owned by PayPal Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: PYPL), will pick Connecticut-based Synchrony (NYSE: SYF) to issue a Venmo-branded credit card sometime this year.
